Sacrament of First Penance and First Eucharist
Saint Thomas the Apostle Church offers Religious Education classes for baptized children not enrolled in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School who wish to receive their First Penance (Reconciliation) and First Eucharist (Communion). The Sacramento Diocese requires First Communion classes to be two years long and requires student and parent participation.
Requirements
- Children must be a minimum of seven years old.
- Children must be enrolled in second grade.
- Children must be baptized.
- Parents must provide a copy of their child’s Baptismal Certificate when their child is enrolled on the first day of class.
- Participation by the parent and their child is required both years.
First Communion Year One and Year Two: Classes will be held on Monday evenings.
