Who We Are
The Knights of Columbus is a non-profit Catholic fraternal organization with over 1.6 million members all around the world who through its charitable works support the Catholic Church and communities experiencing natural (and man-made) disasters. Locally, our membership is reflective of the international efforts in that our 112 active members provide manpower and funds through various projects to support our priest, our parish, our school, and our community.
History
Our council originally derived its name (1926) after the city of its origin, “Oroville”,which roughly translates from Spanish to “city of gold”. However, in 2000 we changed our name to the Msgr. Paul Degnan Council #2603 in memory of Rev. Fr. Paul Degnan who was our pastor from 1963-1976 and who seldom missed a council meeting.
