The RCIA Adapted for Children process is a journey of conversion, learning, living the faith, and growing closer to Jesus and His Church. This is a journey for the whole family, and the process is designed to help your family become active disciples of Christ and participants in the community of faith. Your family’s faith journey will include learning about God the Father, his Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, attending and participating in the Mass, and participating and serving in the community of faith.
Who can participate?
For children and youth who are eight years old and older. Only children who have not been baptized qualify to participate in RCIA. St. Thomas the Apostle Parish offers a two-year program of classes on:
- The Catholic Church
- The Sacraments
- The Mass
- Prayer
- The basics of the Catholic faith
Because parents are considered the primary teachers, the participation of the parent, sponsor, and student will be expected in both years.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Children will take place on Sunday mornings.
